Don`t worry. We guarantee you'll have a place to stay until you have found  permanent accommodation.

When does it open? Who can live at "Roof over your head"?

"Roof over your head" opens August 14, at 12 am. All new students at NTNU, HiST and DMMH are, for the first few weeks of the study year, guaranteed a place to stay for the night. "Roof Over Your Head" offers inexpensive accommodation at the price of 125 NOK per night, for a few weeks from August 14th until September 15th. We have separate dormitories for boys and girls with several beds per room and shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. The reception will be open 24/7.

The accommodation service is run by friendly and experienced students from Trondheim. These students may also be of assistance to you in getting to know the city and finding a permanent place to stay. You still have to find a permanent place on your own, but we will help you along the way. There is no need to make reservations, we guarantee every student at HiST, NTNU and DMMH "Roof Over Your Head" for the first few weeks.

Moving to a new city and starting a whole new chapter of your life may be scary. We know how you feel and we will try to make this transition a bit easier. We know from experience that the beginning of the semester is chaotic at first. Everybody arrives at the same time, and everybody needs a place to stay at the same time. This may make it seem difficult, but the same experience tells us that everyone does find a place to live, every year! Coming to the city for the first time, to have a chance to look around before you rent or buy something, may be a very good idea. "Roof Over Your Head" is a temporary offer to new students at the universities mentioned above, to help you get started in your new life as a student in Trondheim.

Common responsibility while staying at "Roof over your head"

We are relying on each and everyone to take common responsibility for cleaning up. We know it can be challenging looking for a place to live and hope everyone contributes to a positive atmosphere while staying at "Roof Over Your Head".

Unfortunately, we haven't any parking space for residents at "Roof over your head" so we reccomend you find a parking space outside of Persaunet area.

To get to Persaunet from Trondheim, you may take bus number 20 or 60 to "Cecilie Thoresens veg". For bus schedule click here.
