We can confirm that there has been one confirmed case of the influenza virus H1N1, also called "swine flu" at our Roof Over Your Head accomodation at Moholt. The affected person has been quarantined in a separate room in a different building and receives care and supervision.
We are in continuous dialogue with health authorities and follow all advice given about necessary prevention measures to avoid further spread of the disease.
Health authorities do not consider it a cause for serious concern.
UPDATE: The above mentioned student is now confirmed by a physician to be free from the illness. Any new cases will be handled in a similar way by our staff.
All new students at NTNU, HiST and DMMH are guaranteed a roof over their heads the first weeks of the study year. It is scary to move to a new city and find a place to live, so we try to make that transition as smooth as possible. From experience, we know that everyone finds a place to live in Trondheim, but it can be a good idea to come to the city first so you have a chance to look around before you rent or buy something. "Roof over your head" is a temporary offer to new students at the colleges mentioned above.
"Roof over your head" offers inexpencive accommodation for a few weeks from August 9th to help you get started in your new life as a student in Trondheim. We have separate rooms for boys and girls with several beds per room and a shared kitchen and bathroom (limited showering facilities available, but additional showering facilities are available at the campus gym about 3 kilometers away). The reception is open 24/7, and run by friendly students from Trondheim. These students may also be of assitance to you in getting to know the city and finding a permanent place to stay.
The price per night per person is 120 NOK. There is no need to make reservations, we guarantee every student at HiST, NTNU and DMMH Roof Over Your head.
Nearby you weill find a grocery store, an ATM, a kiosk and a cafeteria (at the Campus across the road).
The bus stop is also near, and from the city (there is a bus stop right by "Prinsen Hotel" on the corner by "Egon Restaurant") you can take bus nr.5 or bus nr.66. Get off at the stop called "Moholt Studentby" (the ride takes about 15min.). When you get off the bus look for signs pointing towards "Tak over hodet"/"Roof over your head".
