Are you a student parent, or are you expecting a child? Trondheim municipality and SiT offers good welfare services for students with children.

Trondheim municipality has a total of 280 day care facilities ranging from small, large, private and public. These offer day care to app. 10400 children aged 1-5 years.

If your place of study is at NTNU, HiST, DMMH or law studies at Folkeuniversitetet Midt-Norge, the easiest way to apply for day care is through SiT Kindergarten. SiT has three different kindergartens; Moholt Kindergarten, Nissekollen Kindergarten and Dragvoll Kindergarten. The SiT Kindergartens are located close to either Moholt student village or Dragvoll campus - making it more convenient for you during your stay in Trondheim.

SiT offers a wide range of flexible day care services, ranging from evening and saturday kindergarten, flexible opening offers, cultural workshops and exam guarantees. For more information about SiTs Kindergarten, please visist this webpage.

Students who are listed in the population register (Folkeregisteret) as a resident in Trondheim may also apply for places in public day care facilities. For questions concerning application, admission, transfer and fees, please contact the Day Care Institutions Service at 0047 72 54 07 90 between 10 am and 2 pm.
