The goal of StudiebyEN is to strengthen Trondheim's position as a student city, and our vision is to make sure Trondheim remains student city number ONE - the preferred student city in Norway and achieve a global status as such.
We have 3 prioritized tasks: 1. student recruiting 2. good student life in Trondheim 3. career opportunities
Throughout this web page you can find a lot of helpful information about studying in Trondheim, practical information on living conditions, councelling and much more. We even guarantee that you will fall in love during your time here!
Student life in Trondheim
We hope you will enjoy your time in Trondheim, and experience many of the exciting things Trondheim has to offer.
You might be surprised to experience all kinds of different weather (sometimes it feels like all four seasons collide in one day!), extreme darkness in the winter, extreme day length in the summer, stores and discos that close earlier than you are used to, confusion over not being able to buy wine in the supermarket (but having to go to a special store called Vinmonopolet), and surprise when you take a sip of the milk you bought and realize that the milk cartons that are blue contain cultured (sour) milk... But it's not without reason we believe Trondheim is the number ONE student city.
Allow us to introduce you to this great city, and some of the opportunities you have here:
Trondheim has about 170.000 inhabitants, and out of these as much as 30.000 are students. As you can imagine this means that Trondheim is a town with a young feel and a vibrant culture and night life. You will meet students from all kinds of different study programs, as Trondheim has several different options. You can apply for studies in medicine, teaching, languages, physics... And not to forget the unique volunteer studentorganizations, the festivals, concerts and and the list goes on and on... Welcome to Trondheim!
