The working group is based on a 10% workforce resource from each member organization in the Studieby en cooperation in addition to members of the administration. The 4 student democracies appoint one student representative to the group who receives a salary from Studieby en.

The working group's tasks vary somewhat, but are for the most part practical work connected to Studieby en's 3 focus areas. In 2009, the main activity in the group is developing a communication strategy for Trondheim as a student city.
