After registering on our web page, you are stored in our student database. Local families register in the same way, and inform us about location, the family and whether they have any particular wishes regarding language, gender, study programme and so on. We try to match students and families as good as we can, based an all parties' wishes. Particularly we focus on geography and location related to where you are studying in Trondheim.

The matching itself happens after you have arrived in Norway, and have visited our office for the final registration.

Practical information

The accommodation is regulated by an agreement between you and the family. We recommend that you and the family talk through different topics related to the agreement.

The permanence of your agreement with the family may vary from host to host. Not all families have the possibility to house an extra person or more for the whole semester, some might offer housing for a couple of weeks, others for a couple of months. Make sure how long you can stay with the family, and whether you should look for housing in the private market as well. The family is probably able to help you looking for alternative housing if that is necessary. You can also contact the Housing Assistance for Students.

The rooms for accommodation will also vary from family to family, but they shall be furnished with a bed, desk and closet. The rent may also vary, from NOK 3000 a month to NOK 3500. You have to make an agreement with the family how you organize food and use of the kitchen.
